Triple Espresso--March 9, 2008

Todd & I went to Triple Expresso on March 9th with some gift certificates that my mom gave us for Christmas a few years ago. Our friends, Keith & Janelle, went with us & we had a great time!they like to have audience participation. They had everyone singing "Home, Home on the Range" and they had the spot light shine on me and the guy said, "What is your name?" So I said, "Sonja." And he said, "Well, Sonja, maybe if you didn't sing so loud." :) So then we were all singing again and he stopped and said, "Maybe you shouldn't sing at all, Sonja." :) Then they had us sing, "My Home's in Montana" Then we did a round with both songs and finished up with "Home, Home on the Range." On one line he said, "Ok, just the women." Then, "Just the men" on the next line. Then on the last line, the spot light came on me again & he said, "Ok, now just Sonja." So I had to sing, "and the skies are not cloudy all day" by myself. It was pretty funny. At least I was on key! Whew! So that was about my 15 seconds of fame............singing in The Music Box Theater. :) When we were leaving, the guys were our greeting and when we shook the one guys hand, he said, "Thanks for coming. And you have a lovely singing voice, by the way." That made me feel good. If you get the chance to see Triple Espresso somewhere, it is a great show to go see. Good clean humor. Our New Nephew--Andrew George Dickon Lane

Mom holding Andrew.

When we laid Andrew on the blanket that I made for him, he was very interested in the bright colors. :)
This past weekend, my Mom, my sister, Angela & my niece, Tiffany & I drove to Omaha, NE to meet our new nephew, Andrew. Andrew was born on 12/28/07 to my brother, Anthony & his wife, Heather. He was 6 lbs. 15.5 oz. and was 20 inches long. He came 4 weeks early but he is doing very well. :)

Todd Turns 40!!

Todd turned 40 last Tuesday and to celebrate he went to the courthouse in downtown St. Paul for jury duty. I think someone needs to give him some better ideas on how to celebrate a milestone birthday! :)

Todd & I went to the Timberlodge for his birthday dinner. Then we picked up Evan from my mom's house to watch him till my sister got off work.

Todd & Evan had fun playing Todd's new Deal or No Deal Game on the TV. :)

Tyler's Pretty Cool!

A couple of weekends ago, while watching the 4 nephews for Jeremy & Kim, Tyler (1) found a pair of Clifford sunglasses in our playroom.

I put them on him and brought him to the mirror to see himself. Tyler loved it! He thought it was pretty funny. :)

Evan's 5th Birthday--1/13/07

Our nephew, Evan, (Angela & Eric's son) turned 5 on Jan. 13th. We met them at Ham Lake Lanes to go bowling for his birthday. I had to use the handicap ramp because of my surgery, but I also got to use the bumpers along with the kids. ;) We had a lot of fun! :)

Christmas at Home 2007

We had our own little Christmas at home on Friday night. We opened our presents to each other & had some eggnog. We like to just have a little Christmas celebration ourselves before the busyness of Christmas with our families. We drove up to Duluth today to spend the weekend, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day with Todd's family. We wish you all a blessed Christmas with family & friends.

Sonja's Birthday ~~ 12/9/07

Todd sent these beautiful flowers to my office for my birthday. He sent them a couple of days early because he wants to make a "show" for my co-workers to see. My boss, Martin, was impressed. I said, "Yeah, he's good!" Martin said, "He's setting a pretty high standard that the rest of us are not living up to." :)

We went to the Lake Elmo Inn for my birthday dinner because we had a gift certificate. (Thanks Matt & Lisa!!)

The outside of the inn was all decked out with lights for Christmas. The inside was decorated with lots of snow globes, a beautiful Christmas tree and lots of other decorations. Through out the restaurant, there were several display cases containing a collection of hundreds of interesting salt & pepper shakers.

We had a wonderful meal and topped it off with a slice of strawberry cheesecake on a Happy Birthday plate. We highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening. ;)
