New York

On May 29th, our North Heights Chorale had the honor of singing at Carnegie Hall in New York! It is a group that Sonja's mom is in. They needed more people in the Chorale to sing at Carnegie Hall, so Todd & I auditioned & were able to go. It was very hard work to learn the music.....especially Hayden's Lord Nelson Mass...........40 minutes of Latin............but it was well worth it in the end. We took a bus to New York, which was a 22-24 hour drive. We left on May 25th & returned on May 31st.

We had a really nice room with awesome views of New York City & the Hudson River on the 39th floor of The Westin New York at Times Square.

We went to the Empire State Building on Thursday night, our 1st night in New York. We went out on the observation deck way up where the white light is. The view were spectacular from every side.

On Friday afternoon, we went down to Ground Zero & sang two songs.......O Day Full of Grace and The Lord's Prayer.

We decided that Times Square is like the State Fair on steroids!

On Saturday afternoon, we went to Central Park & went on a carriage ride.

A sunset view from our hotel room.

Here it is.......... Carnegie Hall.........it is undergoing some renovations.

After the concert, we went on a 2 hour dinner cruise on the New York Harbor.

Sonja's mom on the cruise.

The hightlight of the cruise was seeing the Statue of Liberty. We all sang God Bless America.

We have a book of our trip with many more pictures that we can show you when we see you.
