Todd's Family Reunion in Duluth -- Day #3

Sunday we had a BBQ at Todd's brother,Kevin's house in Cloquet. We had BBQ's ribs that had been in the slow cooker at Sammy's overnight & then he finished them on the grill. They were VERY good. :)

Natalie, Emily, Sophia & Nathan packed a lot of playing into 3 days. :)

Todd's Family Reunion in Duluth -- Day #2

On Saturday, we had a BBQ at Todd's mom & step-dad's house. Todd's Aunt Gene was in town from Florida so she came, too, with her grand-daughter, Ellie.

It was raining lightly & a little chilly, but Nathan...........

...........and Emily made good use of the Slip-N-Slide. :)

Three year old Ellie. She is Todd's cousin, Angie's daughter. They live in Georgia.

We gave Nathan & Natalie their birthday presents early since they were here visiting. They will be 8 years old on July 7th.

Todd's Family Reunion in Duluth -- Day #1

Todd's sister, Kim & her husband, Paul & their twins, Nathan & Natalie, came to Duluth for a visit from California. So Todd's family had a little family reunion in Duluth this past weekend. Friday night we met down by the harbor and went on a harbor cruise on the Vista King.

Nathan, Natalie, Sophia & Emily on the Vista King.

They had a trivia question on the cruise......the first person to go to the pilot house & name all 5 Great Lakes would win. Sophia knew the answer and ran up to the pilot house. She won this cool.......& very tall.....Vista Fleet cup. Great job, Sophia! :)
.
Do you know the names of the 5 Great Lakes?

Sonja & Todd on the Vista King.......it started getting pretty chilly out on the water, so I put on my sweatshirt.

When we were coming back in at the end of the harbor cruise, we saw a bunch of sailboats. Captain Jeff said that every Friday night there is a sailboat regatta in the harbor. It was cool to see all of those sailboats so we made sure we got some pictures with the arial bridge in the background. :)

When your bananas turn spotted.........make banana bread.

Emily & Sophia helped me make some banana bread on Thursday night to bring up to Todd's mom's house for the family reunion. They made a deal........Emily could put in all of the ingredients & Sophia would stir. Emily was fine with that as long as she could lick the spoon. :)

Lacrosse........the game.........not the city.

Last Thursday night, I attended my first lacrosse game. Our 9 year old nephew, Justin, decided that he wanted to try playing lacrosse this summer. It is a fast paced game & Justin is really enjoying it......I'd better work at learning how this game is played. :)

Walk Like MADD Walk 2009

On Saturday, Todd, Evan & I walked in the MADD walk at the Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington. Our team was The Williams Walkers.

Diane, Lana, Dave, Todd, Cathy......Evan......Sonja.

They had stars along the trail with the names of the different teams. We went in a big circle so on the way back to the Start/Finish line, we picked up The Williams Walkers Star & put it in the wagon with Evan. Evan would walk..........then ride............then walk.........then ride.........etc. :)

They were doing face painting at one of the tents. Evan was very excited to get a kitty on his arm.

Here is a close up of the kitty.

Evan kept wanting a balloon, but they were just decorations on the tents & signs. When we were leaving, a guy looked like he was going to take down the big starting line banner. I asked him if he was going to take down the sign & he said he was.............I asked him if Evan could have one of the balloons & he said, "Oh, sure!" He and another guy cut off the whole bunch from one side & gave it to Evan. We were walking away & Evan was very excited to get 6 balloons instead of 1, when the guys asked if we would like the other bunch, too. So Evan ended up with 11 balloons! :)

When we were driving home, Evan said, "That was really fun!" :)
