Birthday Party for Brenden, Tyler & Nicholas

On Saturday afternoon we went to a birthday party for 3 nephews............Brenden (9), Tyler (5), and Nicholas (10). In the morning we went to both Brenden's & Justin's football games.

Brenden making sure we are watching him play his football game. :)

Uncle Jer tries Brenden's football helmet on Luke. Luke was not quite sure what to think about that. :)

Justin is ready for another play in his football game.

Last Morning at Cove Point Lodge

Labor Day was our last morning at Cove Point Lodge............time to go home. The waves were really crashing into the shore the night before & that morning. It was great! Here are some picture. :)

They had a Scandinavian continental breakfast each morning that was quite tasty........however, we did not choose to try the pickled herring! :)

Cove Point Lodge also has a very cozy common area with a fireplace, games to play & books to read. We decided that they needed a Qwirkle game so we brought one from work for them. :)

I wanted to see the waves crashing in on the point, but Todd did not want to walk out there again. I took one camera & walked out to the point..........and Todd stayed on the deck of the fish house with the other camera. Here I am about half way around the cove.

This is a view of the cove from the path.

Another Beautiful Sunrise at Cove Point Lodge

We saw another beautiful sunrise this morning.

We went on a drive in the Superior National Forest & then stopped at Tettagouche State Park. We walked some of the trails & ended up on Shovel Point. Two nature hikes in one weekend for Todd! :) Todd at one of the lookout points.

We saw this big rock with the trees growing out of it & thought it was cool.

A Beautiful Sunrise & Making Smores

This morning we had a beautiful sunrise over the lake.

The lodge had Bingo from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm tonight. Sonja won twice.....$10 in Cove Cash to use in the gift shop or restaurant and a Cove Point cup. :)

After Bingo, we got one of the S'mores packes from the front desk & went down to the fire pit. Each s'mores pack has two 2-packs of graham crackers, a Hershey chocolate bar & 4 marshmallows in a ziploc bag. Sonja roasted marshmallows to make s'mores.

Mmmmmmmm.................the finished product. :)

Here We Are.......at the Cove Point Lodge

Todd & I are spending Labor Day Weekend at the Cove Point Lodge in Beaver Bay on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It is very beautiful here. :)

The view to the right from our balcony. There was a rough trail out to the point.......we walked out there after dinner.

It was a very "naturey" hike for Todd, but he was very brave! :)
